While Prince William and Kate Middleton won’t be making an appearance at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding later today—the royal is now a bonafide friend of the pod.

The Prince of Wales has appeared on the New Heights podcast, which is co-hosted by Travis and his brother Jason. The episode dropped in the hours before Kelce is reported to marry Swift at Madison Square Garden.

“London’s calling!” the New Heights podcast page captioned a post announcing the episode.

“Our guest today is the 6ft. 3’ prince from London, England,” said Jason, 38, listing the royal’s multitude of titles as he usually does in his signature opening intros, Travis visibly surprised.

“That’s right. The president of the English Football Association, the Vice Royal Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, the Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of Cornwall, the Lord of the Isles, Prince and Great Steward of Scotland, Earl of Chester, and the Prince of Wales,” he said.

“92 per centers, please welcome his Royal Highness, Prince William!”

“Let’s go,” bellowed Travis.

“That is quite the intro, guys. Amazing,” said Prince William, laughing.

“We had to do it big for you—had to do it big,” said Jason.

After reports of iron-clad NDAs and watermarked invites, road closures, and a serious lack of Taylor Swift’s usual Easter eggs, don’t expect this episode to draw out much around Kelce’s big day. It was mostly sports chat—with the prince even making a light joke that it was “football” not “soccer.” If England plays in the World Cup finale in New Jersey, Prince William said that he will attend the match.

He said he was “quietly confident” about England’s hopes for lifting the cup once more: “I always felt like we had a really good chance, but as each World Cup goes on and the results don’t quite go your way... a little bit of hope gets chipped away each time.”

“I’m taking it calmly and quietly and like, come on, we’re going to do well and see how we go. But I am quietly confident, I think,” he added.

What William rather surprisingly revealed, though, is that his father—King Charles—hates soccer. When asked if his father passed on his love of local team Aston Villa, he said: “absolutely not. My father hates football.”

“My family haven’t got a particularly long history with football. There are a few of us who support teams. My football love came from friends taking me to my first match and at school growing up.”

Swift has a long history with the British royal. They first met when attending a gala for the homeless charity Centrepoint in 2013, and both performed “Livin’ on a Prayer” with Jon Bon Jovi on stage.

Prince William spent time with both Swift, Travis, and Jason when he took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to a London night of her Eras Tour show in 2024. Both the Kelce brothers shared how nervous they had been to meet William and the rest of the royal family, scared that they would break royal protocol.

Back in May, Prince William appeared on the radio and jokingly replied “no comment” when he was asked if he was attending the wedding: “That feels like a showbiz excuse but it’s not. I’m hoping, and I’m sure there might be an invitation around, but we’ll see.” Both Prince William and Princess Catherine are reportedly not stateside, so it looks like they’ll be sitting this one out. The guest list, regardless, remains star-studded. Will Kate make a point of seeing Swift on her next visit across the pond?
