
The Manuale effectively provides a simulated manual mode for the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, but with an actual gated shifter and a clutch pedal.

Push that clutch pedal in at any speed below 62 mph, and the car activates manual mode, allowing you to handle shifting duties on your own with this neat metal shift knob.

Ferrari said it aimed to replicate the tactile feeling of its last manual transmission car with a V-12, the 599 GTB Fiorano, which ended production in 2012.

The shifter and clutch pedal have no actual connection to the gearbox, instead sending signals electronically via what Ferrari calls "Manuale by Wire" to tell the transmission what you want to do.

The manual mode only uses six of the eight gears, and there are no paddle shifts in the 12Cilindri Manuale.
