A "superb" thriller that's based on unbelievable true events is streaming on Netflix.
Thrillers remain at the forefront of essential viewing, from ITV's Betrayal and Harlan Coben's I Will Find You on Netflix, to BBC's The Night Manager season two.
However, Netflix subscribers have been overlooking a film that's ideal for thriller and period drama enthusiasts, made all the more compelling by its basis in actual events.
The 2022 biographical picture Rogue Agent, set predominantly during the 1990s and early 2000s, explores the tale of calculating fraudster Robert Freegard.
He remarkably posed as an undercover MI5 operative and deceived numerous victims into handing over money, persuading his targets that they were involved in a critical espionage mission.

Sky is giving away a free Netflix subscription with its new Sky Stream TV bundles, including the £15 Essential TV plan.
This lets members watch live and on-demand TV content without a satellite dish or aerial and includes hit shows.
This includes the brand new UK drama Unchosen, starring Asa Butterfield and Christopher Eccleston.
Yet Robert's fortune begins to falter when he starts a relationship with astute solicitor Alice Archer, who rapidly identifies the inconsistencies in his account.
Happy Valley and Grantchester fans shouldn't overlook Rogue Agent, as none other than James Norton portrays fraudster Robert Freegard.
He appears alongside ITV's Secret Service actress Gemma Arterton as solicitor Alice, who becomes embroiled in this peculiar and perilous game of pursuit.
They're supported by several other recognisable performers including Back to Black's Marisa Abela, Barry star Sarah Goldberg and Wuthering Heights actor Shazad Latif.
Viewers have been rushing to IMDb to express their opinions on Rogue Agent, with someone likening it to the "excellent Brit series Bodyguard" on BBC One. Another confessed: "Ended up sleeping at 3am without looking at my phone once (which hasn't happened in a long time)."
Someone else remarked: "Rogue Agent is a powerfully compelling film and an unfathomably true story...great story-telling, professionally and seriously handled, which is hard to find these days."
Others hailed it as a "superb British film" and a "must watch", with one user particularly commending: "James Norton plays the con man with a believable combination of charm and selfish ruthlessness."
