A 20-year-old man died from a crash involving a moped in Baltimore's Seton Hill neighborhood on Thursday night, authorities announced.
On July 2, around 11:25 p.m., police said an officer was flagged down at the 600 block of W. Franklin Street.
Officers then arrived on the scene and found a crash involving a moped.
The driver of the moped, a 20-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital and died from the incident, officials reported.
Preliminary investigation indicated that an officer initiated a traffic stop involving two mopeds in the 100 block of N. Eutaw Street.
Police said one of the moped drivers fled the stop but was not pursued by officers, while the other driver stopped.
The driver who fled later crashed into a brick wall in the 600 block of West Franklin Street and was ejected from the moped.
Parts of the moped could be seen scattered across the sidewalk.
Orange spray paint surrounded the moped and a nearby pole, indicating that a member of the Crash Team had been at the site to search for evidence.
Forensics investigators used a camera to collect digital images of the crash.
Crash Team investigators assumed control over the investigation.
