JAMMU, July 3: The Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE), J&K has successfully recovered an amount of Rs 85,000 lost in an online fraud and returned it to its rightful owner.
A CICE J&K official said the recovery was made in connection with complaint number 262/2026 registered at Police Station CICE Srinagar, involving an amount of Rs 85,000 lost in an online fraud.
He said the entire recovered amount has been transferred back to the bank account of the complaint.
Meanwhile, the CICE J&K has advised the public to remain vigilant against online frauds and report cybercrime immediately through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) or on Cyber Crime Helpline number 1930.
